Warehouse Forklift Operator - Greensboro

About the role

Warehouse forklift operators maneuver powered industrial equipment to move cases and pallets within Publix’s warehouses. Key tasks include:

• Moving product from the receiving dock to reserve locations
• Replenishing pick locations by pulling product from reserve locations
• Rotating inventory using the most dated inventory first
• Maintaining a clean warehouse and sweeping out empty slots
• Occasionally filling in for warehouse selectors and other positions as needed

The responsibilities listed are not all-inclusive; additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time
• Obtain certification in pallet truck and forklift operations (on or before start date)
• Ability to lift a minimum of 67 pounds (85 pounds in boxed meat/dairy warehouse)
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
• Ability to bend, stoop, and twist
• Operate a pallet truck or forklift without any part of the body exposed outside the operator compartment
• Stack product of varying weights
• Work under strict time requirements
• Read, write, and identify and verify numbers
• Interpret, understand, and follow instructions

Working Conditions

• Boxed Meat/Dairy Warehouse: Temperatures range from 28°F to 35°F for extended periods
• Frozen Foods Warehouse: Temperatures range from -20°F to 0°F for extended periods
• Produce Warehouse: Temperatures range from 35°F to 55°F for extended periods; wet environment
• High Velocity Warehouse: Temperatures may exceed 90°F for extended periods
• Low Velocity Warehouse: Temperatures may exceed 90°F for extended periods

• Year-End Bonus:
