About the role
The CSC Associate is responsible for processing incoming stock and materials, picking orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, and organizing the warehouse. They also drive and operate forklifts after certification, load/unload containers and trucks, maintain a safe and clean work environment, and perform various duties across different roles.
Responsibilities
- Observe and follow safety rules as prescribed by the safety policies, including wearing required PPE.
- Complete an expected amount of work based on time studies in accordance with schedule.
- Operate all necessary equipment in a proficient manner.
- Prepare orders by pulling materials and checking for accuracy, packing boxes and placing orders in the delivery area.
- Drive and operate forklift after certification, load/unload containers and trucks, check material in and report discrepancies, put stock in proper locations.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by organizing the warehouse for orderliness and sweeping of the floor daily and general housekeeping.
- Comply with OSHA and other safety regulations, wear the proper safety equipment provided at all times.
- Cycle count inventory, cross-train and perform Shipper/Receiver duties, such as printing daily sales receipts, preparing shipping labels, checking received goods, and loading/unloading trucks.
- Cross-train and perform Cutter/Slitter duties, such as setting up and operating cutting machines, reading work orders, assisting with machine maintenance, unloading shipping containers, checking-in material, and putting stock in proper locations.
- Maintain records and prepare receiving and shipping reports.
- Process orders based on the buyer’s preferred shipping system (e.g. USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.), contact carriers, and schedule shipping for each package.
- Ensure inventory levels and report any shortages to the sales team.
- May use banding or shrink wrap machines, understand stock locater systems, and maintain continuous improvement and innovation.
Requirements
- A high school diploma/GED is preferred.
- One to two years of experience in retail or e-commerce is preferred, but on-the-job training will be provided.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Basic math skills using addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
- Ability to be trained/certified on powered industrial truck (P.I.T.).
