About the role
Plans, organizes, and monitors employees to achieve stated production goals at the desired level outlined by the Operations Manager.
Responsibilities
- Lead people and get results through others.
- Plan ahead and prepare action plans to achieve results.
- Conduct employee performance reviews and discipline.
- Develop a positive work environment.
- Ensure shipping, receiving, storage, distribution and production are performed in an efficient manner.
- Make employee decisions including interview, selection and retention of employees.
- Conduct employee training, career counseling, and development.
- Continually review production requirements and assign employees to the correct work area.
- Balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost and employee relations.
- Resolve employee issues through problem solving.
- Measure and maintain accuracy of inventory.
- Manage multiple problems.
- Coordinate daily workflow with other management personnel.
- Perform accident and near miss investigations.
- Conduct employee team meetings.
- Be available to work in all areas of the operation.
- Promote accurate, timely communication up and down the organization to ensure priority issues are addressed.
- Set an example to co-workers.
- Coordinate daily workflow with other warehouse personnel.
- Ensure the work areas are appropriately maintained and correct any unsafe conditions immediately.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum of 3 years warehouse experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work flexible schedules as required which may include working off shifts and weekends
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Proficiency in English and Spanish oral and written communication
- At least 1 year experience utilizing a warehouse management system
Physical Requirements
- Stand up to 10 hours in a day
- Walk up to 8 hours
- Continuously reach up and out
- Occasionally climb
- Occasionally push/pull from 11–25 pounds
- Frequently bend, stoop, reach up and out, crouch, kneel, and push/pull from 36–50 pounds
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds
- Occasionally have repetitive foot movement
- Frequently have repetitive hand/arm movements for simple reaching, simple and firm grasping and/or fine hand manipulation
- Specific vision ability required includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
- Regularly required to stand; use hand to finger, handle or feel objects; and reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to wear gloves occasionally
Language Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to speak with all levels of the organization
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports
Mathematical Skills
- Proficient in mathematics
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s
- Ability to perform these operations using American money and weight measurements, volume, and distance
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Pay
$60,000 – $65,000
