About the role
To pull items efficiently and accurately according to customer orders in a warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
- Pull all orders for the customer according to the prescribed picking quota as set by management.
- Identify the proper product and quantity, pull the product, and transport it to the checking station.
- Use voice picking and RF scanning equipment as required.
- Maintain adherence to the Stockroom Housekeeping Policy of the facility and specific product line area.
- Ensure accuracy in repetitive routines while maintaining good speed.
- Follow and adhere to all safety rules, including handling hazardous materials.
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and order selectors (training provided).
- Basic navigation on the computer, including operational access to PkMS (Menu DCAMENU50) and vPack Voice Picking System.
Requirements
- Must be functionally literate and capable of understanding and recognizing product numbers and line codes to ensure proper retrieval of products for shipment.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, write legibly, and communicate effectively with the voice picking system.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions and deal with standardized situations with occasional or no variables.
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills
- Experience with forklifts or order selectors (training provided).
- Ability to adapt to voice picking system commands and ensure the system understands your input.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach with arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds frequently and move heavy products in excess of 1,000 pounds using moving aids (e.g., hand trucks, dollies, motorized carts, pallet jacks).
- Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Loud noise level in the environment.
Pay
$20.35–$22.59 hourly wage.
Schedule
Standard work hours: 12 PM to finish.
