Responsibilities

  • Break down and sort all orders while verifying the accuracy of every order before tendering over to the appropriate party.
  • Timely and correctly remedy any mis-picks and breakage.
  • Ensure non-authorized personnel stay out of the customer door area and that the correct product is given to the appropriate recipient.
  • Verify and sign off on all invoiced product returns and take stage to the back dock for scanning.
  • Release orders, print and disperse labels, scan product, and close routes.
  • Create and maintain a clean work area devoid of hazards, refuse, remnant personal effects, and prohibited items.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This position operates in a non-controlled warehouse environment exposed to high and low temperatures based on outdoor conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration where the noise level can be loud. The role is very active and requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, stooping, and climbing throughout the day. Duties include lifting, stacking, moving, and rotating items weighing up to 50 pounds without handles, and pushing or pulling carts with up to 100 pounds of force. The position also requires operating warehouse equipment and regularly reading, writing, and communicating in English.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Ability to be active and on your feet for an entire shift.
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry 55 lbs., and push or pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures outlined in the employee policy manual and applicable contracts, signed agreements, and work rules.
  • Cooperate with all management and staff of Great Lakes Wine & Spirits.
  • Follow all Michigan Liquor Control Commission (MLCC) rules and regulations as they apply to the position.
  • Use alcohol in a responsible manner when related to business activities.

Schedule

This is a full-time position working 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Overtime and Saturdays may be required based on holiday schedules and business needs.
