About the role
The Warehouse Coordinator leads a team of operators in managing workflow and achieving daily objectives within set metrics. This role involves up to 95% of time on the warehouse floor, ensuring the work group executes daily tactical plans focused on safety, costs, and workforce requirements, including performance metrics.
Responsibilities
- Prepare materials to communicate work group performance results.
- Create a safe working environment for all team members by ensuring the site is compliant with all federal, state, local, and LS&Co safety standards.
- Attend daily production meetings and participate in pre-shift health and safety requirements (e.g., stretching, ensuring proper PPE).
- Complete pre/post shift inspections of assigned work areas and/or equipment.
- Communicate workflow improvement opportunities to Production Planning or other cross-functional teams, and participate in testing or implementation as required.
- Coach work group to understand how their activities support other teams, DC metrics, and LS&Co business objectives.
- Mentor team members.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Experience in supply chain, distribution, or related fields.
- Ability to motivate a team to execute action plans that support attainment of business metrics and goals.
- Willingness to train, motivate, and lead in a team environment, and to actively engage in constructive feedback, coaching, and mentorship.
- Effective communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Stand and/or walk the majority of shift, plus ability to bend, squat, lift up to 50 pounds, push, pull, reach with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Knowledgeable regarding lean manufacturing and change management (5S, Gemba, Kata, Muda, etc.).
- Understanding of general process flow in warehouse management systems; Manhattan WMOS preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, etc.).

Skills
- Knowledgeable regarding lean manufacturing and change management (5S, Gemba, Kata, Muda, etc.).
- Understanding of general process flow in warehouse management systems; Manhattan WMOS preferred.
