About the role

The Warehouse Controls System Analyst will design, configure, test, document, and deliver critical operational functions for L’Occitane Group Distribution Center and its supported clients. This role ensures the efficient operation of an automated warehouse environment by aligning all automated systems—such as conveyors and sortation systems—so they are fully integrated and functioning smoothly.

The WCS Analyst will collaborate with the Engineering Team and Operations on the WMS, manage system troubleshooting, and drive continuous improvements in warehouse efficiency through data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the integration and performance of warehouse control systems (WCS) and Systems Automated ControlPoint with warehouse management systems (WMS), Scale 2023.
  • Actively participate in all phases of WMS process optimization, bug fixes, requirements gathering, functional and technical design, system development, testing, roll-out, and support.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to ensure seamless system integration and efficient real-time operations.
  • Identify and resolve issues impacting data/message flow between warehouse management systems, warehouse control systems, and MHE systems to mitigate disruptions to DC operations.
  • Analyze and fine-tune system configurations to optimize workflows, product flow, and material handling.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of WCS logic, control algorithms, and system parameters, adjusting settings to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance and regular system upgrades to keep equipment and systems up to date and functional.
  • Utilize real-time data from WCS to monitor warehouse activities, identify bottlenecks, and measure system performance.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for warehouse staff on WCS/WMS functionalities and best practices.
  • Manage documentation and organization of configuration changes, business processes, and training guides.
  • Provide technical support and software training, offering analytical, in-person technical assistance and superior customer service.
  • Perform routine to complex technical work on custom reports and minor enhancements and integrations between systems using industry-standard programming languages, tools, and frameworks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Automation, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years’ experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS); Manhattan Scale experience preferred.
  • 2–5 years’ experience in warehouse automation, controls systems, or related technical roles.
  • Minimum of 3 years using SQL for query and report development in a Supply Chain setting.

Skills

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team; highly motivated, focused, self-driven, and results-oriented.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse control systems (WCS), warehouse management systems (WMS), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and industrial automation.
  • Familiarity with conveyor systems, robotics, sortation systems, and AS/RS.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and diagnosing hardware and software issues in automated systems.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools to extract meaningful insights from warehouse operational data.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and troubleshoot data and database-related issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause analysis.
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills and the ability to function in a fast-paced, multifunctional environment where priorities change quickly.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and drive tasks to completion.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, cross-functional collaborative environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and commitment to continuous learning.
  • Flexible and adaptable schedule that may include nights, required holidays, weekends, and occasional after-hours work.

Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Commute to warehouse location.
  • Able to sit in front of a computer screen for long periods of time.
  • Able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
