About the role
The Warehouse/Commissary Worker at CoreCivic assists with various tasks in the warehouse and commissary settings, including managing inventory, handling inmate/resident workers, and conducting commissary sales transactions.
Responsibilities
- Receives, stores, and inventories stock, supplies, and equipment used in commissary and facility operations.
- Accurately routes and stores goods and cleaning chemicals according to sanitation standards and applicable codes.
- Prepares materials for shipment as needed.
- Processes inmate/resident order forms, performs data entry, and verifies and delivers pulled orders to the appropriate individuals.
- Maintains up-to-date facility and warehouse inventories of furniture, equipment, and supplies.
- Monitors commissary goods for sale to maintain minimum and maximum inventory levels as necessary.
- Creates and maintains accurate records and reports, including sorting, labeling, filing, and retrieving files.
- Communicates effectively with administration, staff, inmates/residents, and visitors, ensuring clear and concise interactions.
- Controls access to equipment and supplies, and conducts searches to prevent the introduction of contraband items into living areas.
- Supervises and directs assigned inmates/residents in performing their duties.
- Escorts inmates/residents or coordinates their movement between different areas within the facility.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent is required.
- One year of experience in warehouse/commissary operations, including the physical control and movement of inventory, is preferred.
- Must be able to operate hand trucks, forklifts, and/or pallet jacks.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.
