Warehouse/Commissary Worker

About the role

The Warehouse/Commissary Worker at CoreCivic assists with various tasks in the warehouse and commissary settings, including managing inventory, handling orders, and supervising inmate/resident workers.

Responsibilities

• Receives, stores, and inventories stock, supplies, and equipment for the commissary and facility operations.
• Accurately routes and stores goods and cleaning chemicals according to sanitation standards and applicable codes.
• Prepares materials for shipment as needed.
• Processes commissary sales transactions, verifies and delivers pulled orders to inmates/residents.
• Maintains up-to-date facility and warehouse inventories of furniture, equipment, and supplies.
• Monitors commissary goods for sale to maintain minimum and maximum inventory levels.
• Creates and maintains accurate records and reports, organizes files, and conducts counts of inmates/residents.
• Communicates effectively with administration, staff, inmates/residents, and visitors, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
• Serves as a supervisor and directs the work of assigned inmates/residents.
• Controls access to equipment and supplies and conducts searches to prevent the introduction of contraband items.

Requirements

• High School diploma, GED certification, or equivalent.
• One year of experience in warehouse/commissary operations, including inventory management.
• Ability to operate hand trucks, forklifts, or pallet jacks.
• Valid driver's license.
• Minimum age of 21 years.
