About the role

We are seeking a motivated Warehouse Clerk to join our team in Suwannee, GA. Mercury Distributing is a full-service, wholesale-only distributor serving the Marine and RV industries for over 50 years. With thousands of parts and accessories available from warehouses nationwide, Mercury prides itself on fast, efficient delivery throughout the US and Canada. In cooperation with Mercury Marine's Latin America and Caribbean division, Mercury serves over 60 additional countries worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist equipment and parts throughout the warehouse and work areas
• Comply with all quality standards and policies
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, including cleaning and maintaining equipment and work areas, and performing safety inspections
• Shipping:
  • Accurately pick, pack, and ship various-sized parts to support quick turnaround of orders
  • Fill orders by removing the correct parts from the shelf, identifying part numbers, and ensuring proper quantity
  • Determine method of shipment and pack accordingly
  • Count, weigh, measure, or examine packaging and contents for conformance to company specifications
• Receiving:
  • Receive and unpack merchandise and supplies, verifying accuracy of deliveries
  • Perform general labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials
  • Confirm proper location of merchandise
  • Ensure production area organization and cleanliness
• Stock shelves by placing material in appropriate locations

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Dependable attendance and ability to work as a team player
• Prior forklift certification or willingness to become certified
• Basic computer skills
• Prior warehouse experience is a plus

Working Conditions

• Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, balance, and use arms and hands to reach, pull, push, clasp, and move a variety of materials
• Walkways are concrete and/or metal grating
• Must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently
• May be exposed to high, precarious places
• The warehouse environment can be hot (or cold) and dusty

Pay

The anticipated pay range for this position is $16.00 to $21.00 per hour. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
