Warehouse Clerk - 1st Shift

About the role

This role is an onsite position requiring full-time presence at our Salem, Virginia office.

The Assembly Kitting Clerk is the conduit between the plant's planning and scheduling team and the different assembly areas within the facility. He/She is responsible for taking the planning and scheduling file executed daily for each assembly area in the plant (e.g., Upper Assembly area, Lower Assembly area, Clamming area, Blistering area, and Customization area) and ordering the materials required for production.

The Assembly Kitting Clerk will analyze the schedule to determine what product needs to be pulled first, which area it is needed for, and how many units are required to maximize efficiencies regarding production run rate and staging capacity. They will monitor inventory in the assembly areas to ensure steady replenishment of materials until the work is complete. The role involves working with a team of auditors assigned to different kitting areas to establish a verification process ensuring the product ordered is received, audited, and placed in the assigned work area.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to cGMP Regulatory requirements.
• Generate and initiate the pull list based on the priority of the plant's planning/scheduling team.
• Order sufficient products to maximize the plant’s efficiencies, considering line run rates and staging capacity.
• Be familiar with the detail of every component’s pallet unit configuration to ensure the correct amount of product is ordered.
• Monitor and verify inventory levels by kitting area and line throughput by components through the Assembly process.
• Initiate the return of excess inventory from Assembly lines to the Warehouse.
• Maintain constant communication with Warehouse Supervisors/Managers regarding critical, time-sensitive requirements.
• Communicate with Receiving Supervisors/Managers for any product arriving with critical, time-sensitive requirements.
• Ensure no product remains in the kitting area.
• Verify with Kitting auditors the actuals against system movements, specifically lot number, quantity, and item.
• Ensure excess inventory returning to the Warehouse has the correct lot number, description, and quantity.
• Record all movement of items with active ingredients.
• Oversee and direct a small staff.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in a fast-paced warehouse/production environment.
• High School Diploma or secondary GED minimum.

Skills

• Excellent mathematical skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
• Ability to oversee and direct a small staff.
• Excellent attention to detail, both written and in spreadsheets.
• Ability to juggle multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Assertive, analytical, and able to work independently.
• Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Shift hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Pay

The base pay range for this position is $19.00/hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and geographic location. Certain positions may also be eligible for short-term incentives as part of total compensation.
