Warehouse Clamp Truck

About the role

Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries, and move them to and from storage areas, machines, loading docks, trucks, or storage facilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate and care for trucks in a safe manner, including clamp trucks
• Complete and document clamp truck inspection forms before the start of each shift and when operating a new clamp truck; submit maintenance work orders for needed repairs
• Locate stock before the start of each run and adhere to the daily production schedule
• Make recommendations to optimize the schedule for cost, quality, delivery, and service goals
• Deliver appropriate stock to machines safely and on time
• Complete necessary paperwork and reports accurately and timely, including production data, machine operational status, safety data, and quality data
• Maximize equipment utilization by operating machinery at available capacity and speed
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed

Requirements

• Manufacturing experience preferred
• Prior work experience in the corrugated industry preferred
• Three years of forklift experience required
• Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters
• Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities to ensure efficient operation
• Working knowledge of layouts, production specifications, and product quality specifications
• Excellent team-building and interpersonal skills
• High degree of attention to prevent injury to others and promote a safe work environment
• Ability to use warehouse scanners
• Must maintain a current forklift license

• Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to handle or feel
• Frequently required to talk or hear
• Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

• Usually loud noise levels
• Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts
• Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions
• Occasional exposure to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibrations
