Warehouse Baler
Primary Responsibilities
Operate industrial baler equipment to compress cardboard, plastic, and other recyclable materials.
Load materials into the baler safely and efficiently, ensuring no prohibited items are included.
Tie, eject, and stage completed bales for pickup or recycling.
Monitor baler performance and report malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
Maintain cleanliness of the baler area, ensuring clear walkways and safe conditions.
Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures before clearing jams or performing maintenance.
Support warehouse teams by collecting recyclable materials from designated areas.
Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
Accurately track bale counts or weights if required for reporting.
Adhere strictly to OSHA safety guidelines and company protocols.
Never reach into or attempt to clear jams while the baler is energized.
Use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): gloves, safety shoes, eye protection.
Follow lockout/tagout procedures before servicing equipment.
Immediately report hazards, unsafe conditions, or incidents.
Participate in safety training, including equipment use and hazard communication.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous warehouse or equipment operation experience a plus
- Ability to safely operate machinery following training
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment (varying temperatures, noise levels)
- Exposure to moving equipment, forklifts, and operational noise
- Requires adherence to strict safety standards at all times
