Responsibilities

• Pulling and packaging units for outgoing shipments
• Affixing shipping labels on packed boxes
• Staging merchandise for outgoing shipment and loading/unloading merchandise on delivery trucks
• Sorting and placing merchandise in proper stock areas
• Assisting Branch Manager and co-workers in performing assigned tasks, including maintaining a neat and orderly warehouse and shipping areas, and ensuring equipment is kept in safe and efficient condition
• Exercising and promoting safe behaviors, and reporting incidents in accordance with company policy
• Keeping the Branch Manager informed of shortages, overloads, damaged merchandise, and inventory control
• Operating a company-owned or leased vehicle safely while delivering materials, products, and parts to customers and jobsites
• Following traffic laws at all times and obtaining signatures on delivery and pick-up invoices or slips
• Following assigned scheduling and routing of deliveries, making deliveries in a timely manner
• Following maintenance schedule for truck services and repairs, reporting any mechanical problems, and maintaining vehicle in a neat and clean condition
• Maintaining a neat appearance in accordance with company dress code policy and remaining courteous and service-minded while dealing with employees and customers
• Protecting and maintaining confidentiality of company trade secrets and proprietary information, including operations methods, customer information, and sales data
• Maintaining punctuality and regular, reliable attendance
• Completing projects and assignments on time
• Attending department meetings and trainings as requested
• Completing other related duties assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• Valid CA driver’s license with a clean driving record (motor vehicle record check conducted following a conditional offer of employment)
• Minimum of 2 years driving experience with vehicles over 16ft, forklifts, and man lifts
• Familiarity with the local area and ability to read directions and use street maps to plot delivery routes
• Physically able to lift up to 50lbs to load and deliver packages
• Dependable worker with the ability to carry out work instructions without constant supervision
• Proficient in computer and general internet usage
• Able to create positive and productive working relationships with employees and customers
• Able to work independently and use effective problem-solving skills to resolve issues
• May be required to work some Saturdays for inventory
• Able to operate a forklift
