About the Role

As a Warehouse Attendant, you will perform a variety of tasks in connection with the receipt, storage, and distribution of stock items. You will receive, check, store, count, and distribute inventory of all types in accordance with established systems, procedures, and methods. Responsibilities

  • Read load reservations and customer order requests (computer-generated pre-sell orders) to determine stock items to be pulled for distribution.
  • Load or unload items on or from trucks and other conveyors.
  • Convey items to and from receiving, shipping, and storage areas.
  • Assemble sales personnel and customer orders by pulling from on-hand stock and placing in staging areas.
  • Audit picked orders for accuracy and report discrepancies to supervisor for corrections.
  • Stack and arrange product on pallets.
  • Assist internal customers with physically loading products onto sales trucks.
  • Assist in weekly/monthly inventory cycle counts of warehouse/location and company vehicles by determining quantities of product on hand.
  • Move product in warehouse/location as necessary during reallocations of space or taking of inventory.
  • Rotate product and arrange according to Julian dates or FIFO (first in, first out).
  • Receive and check incoming product against receiving documents, ensuring proper nomenclature, product code (UPC), quantity, and condition. Report any discrepancies to the Supervisor.
  • May utilize location van to pick up product from outside vendors and deliver to warehouse/location for further processing.
  • May help maintain lawn and landscaping.
  • Complete forklift and pallet jack inspections before each shift if required by location.
  • Replenish stock while maintaining a cleaned and organized warehouse/location daily.
  • Occasionally clean and perform minor repairs to equipment.
  • Operate industrial forklifts, electric and manual pallet jacks.
  • Maintain organization of warehouse based on WMS picking/put-away strategies.
  • Maintain timely execution of daily receiving and shipping schedules based upon the published load boards.
  • Utilize handheld WMS units as well as computers to execute product movement and placement according to established procedures.
  • Additional/differential duties may be required depending on the location of the position.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required OR passing score on aptitude test.
  • One year of related experience preferred. Experience with Community Coffee, even if unrelated, may fulfill this requirement at the discretion of the hiring manager with approval from Human Resources.
  • Valid driver’s license or valid federal, state, or local ID card.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to operate forklift, hoist, welding equipment, and various hand and power tools.
  • Familiar with industrial and mechanical terminology.
  • Knowledge of CFR 110, current good manufacturing practices, and AIB consolidated standards for food safety.
  • Any related certifications required, computer skills, etc.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment physical.

  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 200 pounds (with assistance of lift or by two persons).

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works:

  • Near moving mechanical parts.
  • In high, precarious places.
  • In outside weather conditions.
  • Exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be moderately loud in warehouse areas.
