About the Role

A Warehouse Attendant is a crucial person in the fabrication industry who performs duties to organize and maintain the assigned stock storage area.

Responsibilities

• Prepares materials for shipping and loads it onto trucks.
• Places and organizes different types of material throughout the stock storage area to prevent damage and keeps track of them.
• Cleans stock storage area of debris and other materials that could be a safety hazard.
• Maintains equipment by greasing and oiling and ensuring they are in working order.
• Maintains an active list of tools and material checked out by employees.
• Ensures the stock storage area is maintained for at least 30 minutes after work is completed.
• Uses appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Works within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
• Follows oral and written directions.
• Works within company policy as outlined in the Samuel EPC Craft Handbook and maintains compliance with both the Samuel EPC Human Resources Policy Manual and the Samuel EPC Safety Manual.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the foreman/supervisor as needed.

Requirements

• 3+ months of industrial, construction, or general labor experience.
• Able to identify governing safety requirements and codes to ensure company compliance with all regulations.
• Prior warehousing or stock storage experience and knowledge of the operations of various construction equipment and materials.
• Ability to work with others to achieve job goals.
• Read, write, and communicate using the English language sufficient to perform job functions (special language skills may be preferred where there is a business need).

Physical Requirements

• Sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
• Use arms and hands to reach for, handle, or manipulate objects.
• Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects.
• See well (naturally or with correction).
• Good eye-hand coordination.
• Good physical fitness and sense of balance.

Tool Requirements

• Steel-toed work boots.
• Raincoat or poncho.
• 25' steel measuring tape.

Work Environment

Construction Workers perform physically demanding work including lifting and carrying heavy objects, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling in awkward positions. Some work at great heights or outdoors in all weather conditions. Exposure to harmful/hazardous materials, chemicals, fumes, odors, lead-based paints, asbestos, loud noise, or dangerous machinery may exist. Workers wear safety clothing such as gloves, hard hats, protective chemical suits, and devices to protect their eyes, respiratory system, or hearing. Special alertness is required when working in underground and/or confined spaces to safely follow procedures and deal with hazards.

Varies by location. Must have open availability any time, any day of the week. Length of employment is limited to job assignment and/or project duration.
