About the role
Turner Industries is hiring an experienced Warehouse/Storeroom Attendant in the Metropolis, IL area. The position receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products. Non-exempt role; reports to the Foreman; assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.
Qualifications
- High school or equivalent
- Forklift experience
- Computer experience with Microsoft and inventory system
- Ability to work with a team
- Self-driven
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem solving skills
- Some sites may require a forklift certification
- Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
- Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace
Responsibilities
- Stores, removes, loads, and unloads all types of materials from storage bins, pallets and vehicles that cannot be handled by material handling devices
- Operates manual or mechanical devices and stocks inventory shelves
- Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
- Assorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, or color
- Moves materials and supplies from the warehouse and prepares for delivery
- Fills requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools, or stock items
- Records material items received or distributed
- May maintain inventory records
- Performs routine housekeeping tasks to maintain work area
- Receiving packages by equipment and able to inspect & verify if the package is not damaged and correct
- Inventory Management by verify counts, location, item and insure that item stocked
- Order Picking by reading, verify, and preparing orders and place in proper location
- Labeling and Organize parts in proper location
- Able to work a swing shift & twelve-hour days/nights
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction
