About the role

Warehouse-Yard associates ensure QED's customers receive prompt and accurate orders. Responsibilities include shipping, receiving, storing, and delivering a wide variety of materials and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and move Yard materials from storage to staging sites and/or designated areas per each sales ticket.
• Use work orders and verbal instructions to assemble materials and containers which need to be picked, moved, or staged.
• Collect and pick all Yard materials included in customer orders using the pick ticket.
• Package merchandise for shipment to ensure maximum efficiency and reduce damage during the shipping process.
• Properly wrap, label, and mark material for easy identification and loading.
• Use Eclipse to confirm picking and staging of materials, ensuring proper piece count for drivers and customers.
• Load materials onto vehicles and properly secure cargo.
• Unload incoming vehicles, prepare necessary receiving documents, and receive all Yard materials.
• Document shipments and changes in inventory using Eclipse.
• Clean work areas, machines, and equipment on a routine basis.
• Safely operate all necessary equipment in the work area, including industrial trucks or Propane sit-down forklifts.
• Count, weigh, or measure incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
• Examine incoming shipments for damage or shortages and correspond with purchasing.

Requirements

• Knowledge of automated or computerized system operation.
• Data-entry, reporting, and recordkeeping skills.
• Knowledge of safety practices and wears PPE as assigned.
• Ability to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment. Must be Forklift Operation Certified after hire.
• Strong mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, including fractions and decimals.
• Must be able to read and interpret invoices and packing slips.
• Must be a team player and abide by QED's strong core values and beliefs.
• Strong communication skills both orally and in writing. Able to present information to management, customers, vendors, employees, and the public.
• Problem-solving skills including collecting and presenting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions to solve practical problems where only limited information and standardization exists.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is preferred.
