About the Role

We are looking for a Warehouse Associate/Truck Driver I to join our Platt team in Jackson, WY. This role is responsible for efficiently and accurately filling customer orders, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping material while maintaining company standards for safety, security, accuracy, and productivity. The position also includes an essential driving component, operating a delivery vehicle (van or box truck, no CDL required) for up to 50% of the time to deliver products to customers, company branches, warehouses, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a culture focused on employee safety and a safe work environment.
  • Follow established Standard Operating Procedures and Environmental Health and Safety Rules; address safety concerns immediately.
  • Receive and verify incoming material from vendors, customers, or other warehouses by checking merchandise against packing lists.
  • Stock incoming orders on shelves in an orderly manner and report freight damage claims.
  • Prepare branch orders from the warehouse, ensuring the correct number and type of product is shipped.
  • Process shipment paperwork, including verifying merchandise, applying postage and labels, following customer shipping instructions, and insuring shipments when necessary.
  • Operate machinery such as forklifts, reach trucks, and wire cutting machines as required.
  • Load common carrier and company vehicles.
  • Inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment.
  • Perform inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Operate delivery vehicles to transport products to and from customers, company branches, warehouses, and suppliers.
  • Inspect company vehicles for defects and complete daily inspection reports.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness, service, and maintenance; alert supervisor of repair needs.
  • Follow Department of Transportation (DOT), local, and state driving laws and regulations.
  • Load and unload vehicles, ensuring all material is correct and damage-free before departure.
  • Assist in preparing orders for delivery as needed.
  • Complete all delivery documentation, including obtaining customer signatures on delivery receipts.
  • Pick up material returns from customers; inspect condition, verify quantities, and catalog numbers.
  • Pick up material from company suppliers.
  • Participate in training and mentorship of entry-level Truck Drivers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including counter sales and customer support.

Requirements

  • No prior experience required; warehouse experience is a plus.
  • Certification to operate forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must pass pre-employment and annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) reviews.
  • Must obtain a non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 30 days of hire.
  • No suspended driver’s license for traffic accidents/violations within the past 3 years.
  • No at-fault accidents in the past 3 years.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.

  • Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
