Warehouse Associate/Truck Driver
About the role
The Warehouse Associate/Driver plays a crucial role in Rexel USA's operations, focusing on efficient and accurate handling of customer orders, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping materials. This role includes driving responsibilities, ensuring deliveries meet customer requirements, and maintaining a safe and secure warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to a culture of safety and a safe work environment
- Follow established SOPs, environmental health and safety rules, and address safety concerns promptly
- Verify quantity and description of materials received by checking merchandise against packing lists
- Stock incoming orders orderly and report freight damage claims
- Prepare branch orders, ensure correct number and type of product is shipped, and process shipping paperwork
- Operate machinery including forklifts, reach trucks, and wire cutting machines
- Perform inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies
- Operate delivery vehicles to make deliveries, inspect vehicles for defects, and complete daily inspection reports
- Keep vehicles clean, serviced, and maintain them; alert supervisor of repairs or services needed
- Load and unload vehicles, ensure materials are correct and free of damage before departure
- Assist in preparing orders for delivery and ensure all appropriate documentation is completed
- Pick up material returns from customers and inspect the condition of returned material
- Pick up material from company suppliers
- Participate in training of entry-level drivers and provide mentorship and coaching
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- No experience required, prior warehouse experience a plus
- Certification to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment preferred
- Valid driver's license
- At least 21 years of age
- Verification of non-expired medical certificate within 30 days of hire
- No suspended driver's license for traffic accidents/violations within the past 3 years
- No at fault accidents in the past 3 years
- High School or GED - Preferred
- General knowledge of electrical products a plus
- Basic computer knowledge
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to handle basic issues and problems
- Organizational and time management skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of safety regulations and traffic laws
- Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws

Pay
Salary range is determined based on experience and qualifications, commensurate with industry standards.
