Warehouse Associate/Truck Driver

About the role
The Warehouse Associate/Driver is responsible for efficiently and accurately filling customer orders, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping material while adhering to company standards for safety, security, accuracy, and productivity. This role also includes operating a delivery vehicle (up to 50% of the time) to transport products to and from customers, company branches, and suppliers using a delivery van or box truck (no CDL required). Employee level (I, II, or Senior) and pay are determined by experience, knowledge, and capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to a culture focused on daily employee safety and a safe work environment.
- Follow established Standard Operating Procedures and Environmental Health and Safety Rules; address safety concerns immediately.
- Receive incoming material from vendors, customers, or other warehouses; verify quantity and description against packing lists.
- Stock incoming orders on shelves in an orderly manner; report freight damage claims.
- Prepare branch orders from the warehouse, ensuring correct product type and quantity.
- Process shipment paperwork, including verifying merchandise, applying postage and labels, following customer shipping instructions, and insuring shipments as needed.
- Operate machinery such as forklifts, reach trucks, and wire cutting machines.
- Load common carrier and company vehicles; inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment.
- Perform inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Operate delivery vehicles to transport products to and from customers, company branches, and suppliers.
- Inspect company vehicles for defects; complete daily inspection reports; maintain vehicle cleanliness and service; report repair needs.
- Follow Department of Transportation (DOT), local, and state driving laws and regulations.
- Load and unload vehicles, ensuring correct material quantity and type; verify materials are damage-free before departure.
- Assist in preparing orders for delivery; ensure all delivery documentation is completed, including signed delivery receipts.
- Pick up material returns from customers; inspect condition, quantities, and catalog numbers.
- Pick up material from company suppliers.
- Participate in training entry-level truck drivers; provide mentorship and coaching.
- Perform other branch duties as required, including counter sales and customer support.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- No prior experience required; warehouse experience is a plus.
- Forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment certification preferred.
- Valid driver’s license; must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must pass pre-employment and annual Motor Vehicle Record review.
- Must obtain a non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 30 days of hire.
- No suspended driver’s license due to traffic accidents/violations in the past 3 years.
- No at-fault accidents in the past 3 years.
- High School diploma or GED preferred.

Pay
$19.06 to $26.20 per hour, depending on qualifications, experience, and other considerations permitted by law (Colorado only).
