Warehouse Associate/Truck Driver

About the role

The Warehouse Associate/Driver is responsible for efficiently and accurately filling customer orders, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping material while meeting company standards for safety, security, accuracy, and productivity. This role also handles all warehouse transactions and maintains the branch warehouse environment and equipment. A significant driving component involves operating a delivery vehicle (up to 50% of the time) to deliver products to customers, company branches, and suppliers using a delivery van or box truck (no CDL required). The position ensures deliveries meet customer requirements, materials are correct, and documentation is thoroughly completed.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a culture focused on employee safety and a safe work environment by following Standard Operating Procedures and Environmental Health and Safety Rules.
• Receive material from vendors, customers, or other warehouses, verifying quantity and description against packing lists.
• Stock incoming orders on shelves in an orderly manner and report freight damage claims.
• Prepare branch orders from the warehouse, ensuring correct product type and quantity.
• Process shipment paperwork, including verifying merchandise, applying postage and labels, following customer shipping instructions, and insuring shipments.
• Operate machinery such as forklifts, reach trucks, and wire cutting machines as required.
• Load common carrier and company vehicles, inspecting and performing minor maintenance on equipment.
• Perform inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Operate delivery vehicles to transport products to and from customers, company branches, and suppliers, adhering to DOT, local, and state driving laws.
• Inspect company vehicles daily for defects and maintain cleanliness, service, and repairs.
• Load and unload vehicles, ensuring materials are correct and damage-free before departure.
• Complete all delivery documentation, including signed customer receipts, packing lists, and branch manifests.
• Pick up material returns from customers, inspecting condition, quantities, and catalog numbers.
• Pick up materials from company suppliers.
• Participate in training and mentoring entry-level Truck Drivers.
• Perform other branch duties as needed, including counter sales and customer support.

Requirements

• No prior experience required; warehouse experience is a plus.
• Certification to operate forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and at least 21 years of age.
• Must pass pre-employment and annual Motor Vehicle Record reviews.
• Must obtain a non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 30 days of hire.
• No suspended driver’s license for traffic accidents/violations within the past 3 years.
• No at-fault accidents in the past 3 years.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.

Pay

For the state of Colorado, the pay range is $19.06 to $26.20 per hour, depending on qualifications, experience, and other considerations permitted by law. This role participates in the Branch Pool Plan for commission/bonus opportunities.
