Position Overview

Responsible for organizing, tracking, storing, retrieving, retaining, and securely destroying health information records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, organizational policies, and state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sort through medical records that need to be entered into the computer into efiles.
  • Determine if falls under destruction category or able to be indexed.
  • Data entry skills to type accurate information into the computer efficiently.
  • Overlook accurate information before submitting medical records into the EMR.
  • Collect the charts able to be indexed and sort onto pallets for transporting.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Strong data entry and computer skills.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Comfort working with large volumes of records and maintaining accurate documentation.

Work Environment & Travel Requirements

  • This is a fully onsite position.
  • Work will take place in office storage rooms and warehouses.
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds regularly.
  • Reliable transportation is required.

Job Type & Location

Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester, NY.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
