The Warehouse Associate supports the operational functions of the warehouse, including receiving incoming freight, distributing material, filling orders, and maintaining inventory.
Responsibilities
- Receives incoming freight and checks material for damages or shortages.
- Distributes material to the proper stock locations.
- Fills special orders and/or backorders as material is received.
- Follows up with appropriate departments, carriers, and/or vendors on receiving discrepancies, damages, and shortages.
- Checks and packs material to be delivered.
- Coordinates deliveries with company trucks, assigned freight companies, or other carriers based on special requests or optimal shipping methods.
- Maintains shipping equipment and keeps the work area clean and safe.
- Maintains assigned inventory stock locations, ensuring material is correctly labeled and shelves are neat and orderly.
- Fills orders for delivery to customers.
- Assures all batched managed material is labeled accurately and inventoried as needed.
- Maintains delivery vehicle in clean, good working condition and monitors maintenance and mileage data.
- Maintains daily driver logs and vehicle inspection sheets.
- Operates and maintains all equipment in a safe manner, adhering to all local, state, and federal traffic and safety regulations.
- Informs proper departments of “stock outs,” inventory discrepancies, and other inventory problems or concerns.
- May assist the City Desk and Will Call areas in providing customer service functions, including order entry, filling orders, processing returns, expediting, and technical assistance.
- May provide delivery of material to customer sites and assist with loading and unloading trucks.
- Notifies supervisor of any building or equipment maintenance, repair needs, and/or security concerns.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or designate.
Requirements
- 2 years of work experience preferred.
- Prior warehouse distribution experience, including forklift operation and knowledge of electrical products/systems, is preferred.
- If driving is required, candidate must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license to operate a company vehicle, and a current medical certification may be required.
- PC working knowledge of Windows, internet, email, and SAP software is a plus.

Physical Requirements
Lift and Carry Requirements (weight and frequency):
- Occasionally (0 – 33%): Lift from floor to waist up to 100 lbs; above waist lift up to 75 lbs; unilateral carry up to 25 lbs; bilateral carry up to 75 lbs.
- Frequently (34 – 66%): Sitting, reaching, balancing, repetitive motion (wrists/hands/fingers), driving forklift, handling, fingering, talking, hearing.
- Continuously (67 – 100%): Handling.
Physical Activity Frequency:
- Frequently: Sitting, reaching, balancing, desk work, use of tools, hearing.
- Occasionally: Standing, walking, bending/stooping, climbing/walking stairs, crouching/squatting, pushing/pulling, trunk rotation, exposure to adverse weather & temperature conditions.
- Not at all: Crawling, kneeling, travel.
Pay
Pay range for this position is $18.40/hr. - $25/hr., depending on experience.
