About the Role
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, this position is directly responsible for performing essential warehouse functions in a safety-sensitive and production environment. Responsibilities include warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, packaging, maintaining inventories, light maintenance, training new staff, record-keeping, and communicating issues with management. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Responsibilities
- Warehouse Operations:
- Unload goods and material received, enter information into the system, label, and locate material.
- Separate customer orders, pull and stage orders, and repack material to meet customer specifications.
- Make boxes, pack, label, and locate materials as required.
- Ensure all products are properly labeled.
- Perform functions/transactions in the designated system to receive or ship material.
- Participate in cycle counting, enter and verify information, and research/adjust as necessary.
- Review preventative maintenance check sheets for forklifts and ensure machines are in good working order.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and ensure inspection paperwork is completed correctly and submitted daily (e.g., forklift, transfer system, compressor inspections).
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules, maintaining departmental housekeeping standards.
- Participate in daily safety briefings and monthly safety meetings.
- Participate in operations training and development programs.
- Maintain a positive and healthy attitude at all times.
- Handle the accumulation, disposal, and transportation of hazardous waste if required, including participation in prerequisite RCRA waste management training.
- Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, reach trucks, railmovers, or other heavy-duty material movers only when properly certified.
- Review all receipts and shipments with actual incoming or outgoing material to ensure documentation matches.
- Relocate goods and track/record relocations as necessary.
- Maintain meticulous records of shipping/receiving documentation.
- Packaging Operation:
- Monitor and conduct day-to-day packaging operations.
- Maintain inventories related to packaging and warehouse operations through communication with management.
- Report operational problems to the Warehouse Manager.
- Ensure production documentation is correct and submitted in a timely manner.
- Ensure safety and production procedures are followed.
- Maintain a clean work environment and excellent housekeeping practices.
- Maintenance:
- Perform routine and/or required light maintenance on packaging equipment.
- Supervise outside maintenance work and contractors when requested by management.
- Ensure safety procedures are followed during machine outages or maintenance.
- Maintain detailed maintenance inspection records and logs.
- Communicate equipment issues with the Warehouse Manager.
- Environmental Responsibility:
- Support all facets of Operation Clean Sweep by preventing pellet, flake, and powder loss into the environment and ensuring spills are swiftly and effectively cleaned up.
Requirements
- Must be able to safely operate a forklift and pass site forklift certification.
- Ability to think independently and make decisions in the company’s best interest.

- Multi-task oriented with the ability to handle many activities simultaneously.
- Ability to work overtime, long hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Qualifications
- Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred:
- Previous warehousing experience.
Work Environment
This position operates in a fast-paced warehouse setting, involving regular use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. Associates are frequently required to stand, walk, lift, and carry materials throughout their shifts. The environment may vary in temperature and requires adherence to safety standards. Teamwork, attention to detail, and reliability are essential for success.
Physical Demands
- Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Perform physical labor such as lifting up to 55 lbs., moving up to 250 pounds, climbing ladders, operating control panels, and working with hand tools.
- Possess vision abilities required for close visual confirmation of finely printed documents, distance vision to safely identify objects or markings, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus on subjects at any safe working distance.
Schedule
This is a full-time position. Must be able to work overtime, long hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
