Warehouse Associate (PART-TIME)

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming donations, and sort and process merchandise according to proper procedure
• Maintain cleanliness of warehouse(s) and surrounding areas, including but not limited to restrooms, donation sorting areas, storage areas and grounds
• In the Donation Drop Off area: receive incoming merchandise and food donations accordingly, sorting and processing them for the appropriate places
• Foster long-lasting relationships and educate donors regarding our programs and services
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of warehouse(s), sorting area(s), storage container(s), restroom(s) and other surrounding areas; light grounds keeping may be required
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the commercial waste receptacle area, including breaking down large unsalable items and placing neatly into appropriate receptacles
• Responsible for the movement of processed and unprocessed donations and other items between warehouses and storage areas
• Operate heavy equipment (will be trained and certified as needed)
• Assist warehouse staff with the loading and unloading of donated items, ensuring they remain undamaged and are placed in the correct position and location
• Work closely with the Warehouse Assistant Manager and assist with daily duties

Qualifications

• Maintain a high level of professionalism, including safety, courtesy, and positive communication; ensure other staff members do the same
• Must be trustworthy, work well in a team environment, and maintain a neat, professional appearance
• Ability to work safely and cooperatively in a variety of situations with a variety of team members
• Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience: No experience necessary, will train
• Flexibility in work hours; this position requires some overtime and ability to work on some holidays
• Works with confidential information
• Flow of work requires normal mental and visual capabilities
• Requires standing, walking, reaching, bending and stooping for long periods
• Must handle, feel and/or reach with hands and arms and must frequently lift and/or move items up to 75 pounds with assistance
• Work in warehouse(s) and surrounding exterior and interior areas
