About the Role

Operate forklifts safely and efficiently, handle all production and raw materials properly, maintain warehouse organization and cleanliness, load and unload trucks/trailers using proper procedures, and prepare warehouse-related documents as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts in a safe manner, wearing seat belts at all times.
  • Ensure forklifts are maintained in safe and efficient operating condition through daily/weekly inspections.
  • Remove product from production area and stack units at proper height in an orderly manner.
  • Transport raw materials to the production floor.
  • Weigh, identify, mark, and stage waste raw materials.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness by sweeping and organizing.
  • Ensure access to dock doors (e.g., snow removal, debris removal).
  • Prepare warehouse reports, review Bills of Lading, work orders, and other necessary documents.
  • Load and unload truck/trailers following proper procedures.
  • Assist co-workers as needed and document daily and monthly inventories.
  • Complete Quality Control Orientation and Warehouse Inventory Procedure training on in-house computer systems.
  • Assist in training new employees on quality control and inventory systems.
  • Perform tasks as instructed by supervisors.
  • Obtain OSHA Forklift Certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Actively participate in plant teams and activities (safety, quality, sustainability, community involvement, OEE, maintenance, employee wellness, brainstorming, and continuous improvement).
  • Engage in personal development through regular meetings with managers, additional training, and higher education opportunities.

Quality, GMP, and Food Safety

  • Handle, transport, and store materials and finished goods to maintain product quality and food safety.
  • Label and tag all production and maintain traceability of raw and packaging materials by recording lot codes.
  • Isolate and track non-conforming products and materials.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), personnel practices, HACCP, and prerequisite food safety programs.
  • Prevent foreign material contamination in all work.
  • Communicate quality, food safety, and food defense issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area through effective housekeeping, sanitization, and waste management.
  • Proactively resolve housekeeping and sanitization opportunities.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent (preferred).
  • One year of forklift experience (preferred).
  • Ability to work promptly and regularly with limited supervision.
  • Ability to take direction, work well with others, and handle deadlines.
  • Ability to concentrate, perform accurately, and react productively to change.

Physical Demands

  • Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and equipment using feet, legs, hands, and arms.
  • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist.
  • Crouching: Bending body downward and forward by bending legs and spine.
  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Standing: Standing for sustained periods of time.
  • Walking: Moving over long distances to accomplish tasks.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force to move objects.
  • Lifting: Raising objects up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
  • Grasping/Fingering: Applying pressure with fingers and hands to handle objects.
  • Feeling: Perceiving attributes of objects (size, shape, temperature, texture) by touch.
  • Talking/Hearing: Expressing ideas clearly and perceiving sounds accurately (40 dB at 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, and 2000 Hz).
  • Repetitive Motion: Substantial movements of arms, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Vision: Ability to prepare and analyze data, detect small defects at close distances.

Working Conditions

  • Subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions, including extreme heat (above 100°F for periods over one hour).
  • Exposure to noise, vibrations, moving mechanical parts, electrical current, chemicals, fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, poor ventilation, and oils.

Pay

$17.01 - $25.00 per hour.
