Monday - Thursday, 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM
About the role
Oversee the receiving dock area to receive, inspect, identify, count, and verify the quality and labeling of all materials and supplies delivered to the facility. Complete related documentation, coordinate the storage of supplies, and enter information into the inventory database. Ensure the efficient flow of product through the production process while maintaining safety regulations and quality standards. Perform duties as a team member within the department and organization, including any assigned tasks to best serve the company.
Responsibilities
- Follow all preferred work methods, safety policies, and procedures per company guidelines. Ensure the work area is safe and report any unsafe conditions or acts immediately.
- Review work schedule, perform safety checks on equipment, obtain necessary supplies, and prepare for operations.
- Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety gear.
- Meet productivity and accuracy standards per location and company guidelines.
- Open loading dock doors, set dock plates, and prepare the area to receive products and supplies from tractor-trailers.
- Inspect incoming trailers to ensure they meet company quality standards and take appropriate action as needed.
- Receive incoming products and supplies, verify items on the receiving schedule against the bill of lading, ensure count accuracy, and record counts on appropriate forms or databases.
- Verify the quality and labeling of all materials and supplies.
- Perform damage control checks on received items and contact supervisors about removing items according to company policy.
- Inspect date-sensitive items, perform temperature and quality checks, and take appropriate action as needed.
- Identify, label, and store supplies according to specifications and enter purchase order data into the inventory system.
- Coordinate and/or unload and transport items to staging areas in the warehouse using a forklift or pallet jack.
- Assist forklift operators by putting away items, breaking down pallets, changing stretch wrap, and re-wrapping pallets as needed.
- Perform general housekeeping duties and keep the warehouse area, loading dock, and trailers clean and clear.
- Remove batteries requiring recharging, replace them with charged batteries, and complete the vehicle inspection checklist.
- At the end of the shift, secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- 6 months of warehouse and/or distribution work experience.
- Ability to work scheduled, assigned times and required overtime for the position.
- Able to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Able to lift and stack products between 10-35 pounds and up to 80 pounds occasionally.
- Able to work in multi-temperature environments (cooler, freezer, and dry).
- Pass a pre-employment drug test.
