About the Role
The Warehouse Associate/Truck Driver I is responsible for efficiently and accurately filling customer orders, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping material in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security, accuracy, and productivity. This role also handles warehouse transactions, maintains the branch warehouse environment and equipment, and operates a delivery vehicle for up to 50% of the time delivering products to customers, company branches, and suppliers (No CDL required).
Responsibilities
- Contribute to a culture and environment focused daily on employee safety and a safe work environment.
- Follow established Standard Operating Procedures and Environmental Health and Safety Rules; address safety concerns immediately.
- Receive material from vendors, customers, or other warehouses and verify quantity and description by checking merchandise against the packing list.
- Stock incoming orders on shelves in an orderly manner and report freight damage claims.
- Prepare branch orders from the warehouse, ensuring the correct number and type of product is shipped.
- Process shipment paperwork, including verifying merchandise, applying correct postage and labels, following customer shipping instructions, and insuring shipments when necessary.
- Operate machinery such as forklifts, reach trucks, and wire cutting machines when required.
- Load common carrier and company vehicles.
- Inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment.
- Perform inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Operate delivery vehicles to transport products to and from customers, company branches, and suppliers.
- Inspect company vehicle for defects and complete a daily inspection report.
- Maintain company vehicle cleanliness, service, and repairs; alert supervisor of needed maintenance.
- Follow Department of Transportation (DOT), local, and state driving laws and regulations.
- Load and unload vehicle, ensuring all material is correct and damage-free before departure.
- Assist in preparing orders for delivery as needed.
- Complete all delivery documentation, including obtaining customer signatures on delivery receipts.
- Pick up material returns from customers, inspecting condition, quantities, and catalog numbers.
- Pick up material from company suppliers.
- Participate in training entry-level Truck Drivers and provide mentorship.
- Perform other branch duties as required, including counter sales and customer support.
Requirements
- No prior experience required; warehouse experience is a plus.
- Certification to operate forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must pass pre-employment and annual Motor Vehicle Record review.
- Must obtain a non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 30 days of hire.
- No suspended driver’s license for traffic accidents/violations within the past 3 years.
- No at-fault accidents in the past 3 years.
- High School diploma or GED preferred.

Pay
For the state of Washington only, the pay range is $19.00 to $22.00 per hour, depending upon qualifications, experience, and other considerations permitted by law.
