Warehouse Associate

Essential Functions

  • Assisting in shipping and receiving material, unloading trucks, checking in merchandise.
  • Matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to sales associates for processing.
  • Moving materials and items from receiving or storage areas to other designated areas.
  • Sorting and placing materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Filing requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials.
  • Distributing items to shipping or other designated areas for route drivers.
  • Ensuring the warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
  • Assembling customer orders from stock.
  • Loading wire onto machines and operating all machinery in a safe manner that is in compliance with company safety standards.
  • Maintaining the warehouse facilities to ensure cleanliness.
  • Performing additional assignments per supervisors direction.
  • Maintaining basic mathematics skills.
  • Working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Correctly measuring wire, loading wire on machine and operating all machinery in a safe manner that is in compliance with company safety standards.
  • Properly labeling all completed wire cuts with applicable information, including customer label.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds.
  • Regularly stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Regularly use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Regularly use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters and tape dispensers.

Education And Experience

  • One or more years of prior warehouse experience.
  • Forklift certified preferred but not required.
  • High School diploma required.
