Position Overview
The Warehouse Associate performs various clerical and physical duties such as preparing products for shipment; verifying receipt and shipment of raw materials and manufactured products; performing material handling and in-house delivery services; loading and unloading trucks and maintaining warehouse areas in a sanitary condition. The person will be responsible for performing some will-call and customer service duties.
Essential Functions
- Receives materials and verifies that incoming shipments are correct by comparing items and quantities against bills of lading, purchase orders, manifests or related records; unloads material from trucks; inspect materials for damage; samples all raw materials as per SOP and delivers to QC department; moves materials to storage area; delivers to departments as requisitioned after QC approval; enters receipt of material data into computer
- Moves finished products from production; stretch wraps when required and stores in warehouse. Upon receipt of order, prepares product for shipment; in accordance with instructions on order using SOP for labeling and package preparation
- Verifies that orders to be shipped are accurately filled by comparing items and quantities against shipping documents; checks to ensure shipments are properly packaged, labeled and documented; loads and secures shipments into trucks; prepares and files copies of shipping records
- Performs material handling functions; stores and maintains finished goods and raw materials in the warehouse in designated locations and in a manner that ensures that oldest inventory is used first
- Maintains warehouse and work areas according to the maintenance schedule to comply with safety and sanitation regulations and requirements
- Performs daily maintenance checks of fork truck using checklist
- Conducts outbound shipping via FedEx, UPS, LTL Freight
- Follows all safety policies and procedures including use of safety equipment (PPE) and equipment safeguards
- Performs other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Physical Demands
- The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and stand on his or her feet for long periods of time.
- The employee must frequently lift and move up to 50-100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, non-exempt, and on-site position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, and range from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Some overtime may be required, but not guaranteed. May be required to work occasional overnight or weekends, as needed.
