Warehouse Associate

About the role

Rexel USA is seeking a Warehouse Associate to join the Warshauer Electric Supply team in Tinton Falls, NJ. This role focuses on efficiently and accurately filling customer orders, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping material while maintaining company standards for safety, security, accuracy, and productivity. The Warehouse Associate is responsible for all warehouse transactions and the upkeep of the branch warehouse environment and equipment. This role does not include delivery duties.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a culture and environment focused on employee safety and a safe work environment.
• Follow established Standard Operating Procedures and Environmental Health and Safety Rules; address safety concerns immediately.
• Receive material from vendors, customers, or other warehouses; verify quantity and description by checking merchandise against the packing list.
• Stock incoming orders on shelves in an orderly manner and report freight damage claims.
• Prepare branch orders from the warehouse, ensuring the correct number and type of product is shipped.
• Process shipment paperwork, including verifying merchandise, applying correct postage and labels, following customer shipping instructions, and insuring shipments when necessary.
• Operate machinery such as forklifts, reach trucks, and wire cutting machines as required.
• Load common carrier and company vehicles.
• Inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment.
• Perform inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• May assist with counter sales and customer support as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• No prior experience required; warehouse experience is a plus.
• Certification to operate forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment preferred.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• General knowledge of electrical products is a plus.
• Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers.
• Basic problem-solving skills for handling issues.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations for job tasks.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work overtime as needed.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Pay

For the state of New Jersey, the pay range is $16.50 to $19.00 per hour, depending on qualifications, experience, and other considerations permitted by law.
