Responsibilities
- Compiles and maintains records of quantity, type, and value of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies stocked in the establishment.
- Counts material in stock and posts totals to inventory records.
- Compares actual inventories to records in Metalware.
- Adjusts errors in computation or count and/or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
- Assists in other areas of operations as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one-year certificate from college or technical school.
- Experience in the metals industry is preferred.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
- Willingness to learn a mainframe program (internal computer system).
- Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer, or other measuring devices.
- Willingness to learn to operate a forklift/side loader and cutting equipment.
- Knowledge of basic math skills.
Physical Demands
- Position requires standing, sitting, stooping, and kneeling.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, with assistance.
- Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception, with or without corrected vision.
- Willingness to work in an environment with varying temperatures.
