Warehouse Associate

About the role

Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.

Responsibilities

• Review and prioritize daily shipping orders when received.
• Pull all parts as indicated on the shipping orders, assemble components if necessary.
• Call the freight carrier indicated on the shipping order and complete any required paperwork.
• Load and unload trucks as necessary.
• Inspect containers and material, reporting any damage or missing items noticed.
• Compare identifying information and count, weigh, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
• Determine method of shipment.
• Affix shipping labels on packed boxes.
• Assemble cardboard containers or select preassembled containers.
• Insert items into containers, bind the container with appropriate tape.
• Unpack and examine incoming shipments, record damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify shortages.
• Route items to appropriate location.
• Examine outgoing shipments to ensure they meet specifications.
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Make product deliveries to local customers on occasion.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• GED; and 6 months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Reads and follows written work instructions.
• Possess strong mathematical skills.
• Able to use standard hand and power tools.
• Must be able to lift 50-75 lbs.
• Ability to become forklift certified (training provided).
• Excellent attention to detail.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
