About the Role
The Warehouse Associate will use safe lifting techniques to efficiently sort, handle, load, and unload freight from over-the-road equipment, containers, city trailers, and/or straight trucks. This role involves operating hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts, as well as performing other duties as assigned. A criminal background check is required, and certain convictions may disqualify candidates.
Responsibilities
- Operates all material handling equipment in a safe manner
- Works with different departments to meet business demands
- Communicates issues to supervisors that arise from loading and unloading
- Stays up to date with new systems and technology
- Participates in daily inventory processes, auditing, and researching discrepancies
- Demonstrates reliability and commitment to punctuality
- Performs all job tasks as assigned (may vary depending on client requirements)
Requirements
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work well with a team
- Proficient in attention to detail
- Ability to work overtime as needed to meet operational and customer demands
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The role requires moving, standing, and bending for long periods, effective communication with coworkers and stakeholders, and maneuvering about work areas to move/manipulate objects. Extended work hours and occasional travel may be required.
