Warehouse Associate

On-siteManagement$21–$23.5/hrFull-time

Location: North Hollywood, CA (On-site)

About the role

Puffy, a market-leading, nine-figure D2C brand and Top 5 US mattress brand with over $1 billion in sales, is hiring a Warehouse Associate to own the full cycle of warehouse operations out of our North Hollywood facility. This role covers receiving, inventory, order fulfillment, staging, and shipping, reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager. The position exists to keep accurate product moving at the pace the daily production pull demands, building the count discipline and clean WMS records that let the rest of operations rely on what is on hand without stopping to recount it.

Responsibilities

  • Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks across the full floor.
  • Pick, pack, and stage to daily quota and accuracy target.
  • Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and raise discrepancies directly.
  • Assemble promo bundles and rebox returned product to established procedure.
  • Own cycle counts, FIFO stock rotation, and putaway accuracy.
  • Run the RF scanning and WMS transactions that feed the daily production pulls.
  • Maintain accuracy in receiving verification, powered equipment operation, order fulfillment, bundle assembly, and returns processing.
  • Inspect returned product before it goes back on the shelf.
  • Hold the accuracy standard on every count you sign off on, from receiving inspection through cycle counts.
  • Ensure the number on the screen matches the number on the rack.

Problems You'll Own

  • Primary: Accuracy that holds at speed: Keep speed and accuracy from trading against each other. Systems like WMS and RF scanners track every unit, but human judgment is needed to catch miscounts at receiving, wrong SKUs in promo bundles, or returns put back without inspection.
  • Secondary: A floor whose records can be trusted without a recount: Ensure cycle counts, putaway records, and daily materials-moved logs are clean and current so discrepancies are caught on the dock instead of at fulfillment.

Career Growth

This role offers a direct growth path from Warehouse Associate to Senior Warehouse Associate and then to Warehouse Lead, with accelerated progression (1-2 years instead of 4-5). You’ll gain end-to-end responsibility for warehouse operations, including receiving verification, powered equipment operation, order fulfillment, bundle assembly, returns processing, and inventory accuracy, with a direct line to the Warehouse Manager.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of warehouse experience (picking, packing, staging, shipping/receiving) or minimum 6 months with demonstrated forklift proficiency.
  • Forklift certification or verifiable sit-down/stand-up forklift operating experience.
  • Familiarity with RF scanners and warehouse management systems (SAP, Oracle, Manhattan, or similar).
  • Working knowledge of OSHA-aligned safety practices: proper lifting technique, PPE use, hazard awareness.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly, stand for full 8-hour shifts, and work in non-climate-controlled environments.
  • Strong reliability and attendance record.
  • Basic math and counting accuracy.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Bendi/Flexi articulating forklifts.
  • Familiarity with electric and propane-powered equipment.
  • Prior experience with returns processing or bundle/kit assembly.

Company Culture

  • Be the Owner: Accountability for results, not just activity.
  • Execute with Urgency: Make thoughtful decisions quickly in high-stakes environments.
  • Demand Excellence: Solve hard problems and push boundaries.
  • Be AI-First: Daily multi-turn AI conversations challenge assumptions.
  • Go All-In: Rally as one team to cross the finish line when the mission demands it.

Pay

Total Annual Package: Up to USD $58,568 + comprehensive benefits (Base salary + monthly performance bonus of up to 10% of base). Base: $21.00 – $23.50 USD/hour. Annual salary review every January.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) + US public holidays.
  • AI-First organization with access to AI-native tool stack.
  • State-of-the-art North Hollywood facility in walkable downtown NoHo.
  • Up to $5,000 annual learning budget for courses and certifications.
  • International team collaboration (16+ nationalities in one office).
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Free Puffy mattress after 6 months.
  • $1,000 Puffy/Halo Board store credit after 1 year.
  • Puffy product discount up to 50%.
  • Eligibility for Leaders Club, an elite recognition program featuring premium wellness memberships, exclusive networking with senior leadership, and annual leadership retreats.
  • Eligibility for ‘We Are’ Champion of the Month, monthly recognition with gift vouchers and company-wide celebration for exceptional contributions.
