About the role
The Part Time Warehouse Associate is responsible for various tasks related to warehouse and shipping operations, including fulfilling customer orders, receiving and processing shipments, performing inventory cycle counts, and operating a forklift to move and store merchandise.
Responsibilities
- Fulfills customer orders by accurately picking, packing, and preparing items for shipment.
- Receives incoming shipments, verifies contents, and ensures proper storage.
- Inspects products for damage or defects and reports issues to the supervisor.
- Packages parts for parcel shipments according to company specifications.
- Unloads, folds, ties, and palletizes rubber tracks and steel undercarriage parts.
- Assists carriers with loading and unloading as necessary.
- Maintains accurate inventory records by performing regular cycle counts and reconciling discrepancies.
- Safely and efficiently operates a forklift, pallet jack, or other equipment to move materials and stack items.
- Adheres to safety protocols and guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborates with team members and communicates effectively with supervisors to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
- Ensures the warehouse is organized and items are stored in designated locations.
- Performs daily checks on equipment prior to operation and weighs and measures outgoing packages to determine shipping costs.
Shipping
- Maintains Orders to Ship Report and ensures all orders are shipped and transferred in SAP.
- Assists Counter Sales employees with shipping quotes for customers.
- Ships product utilizing the best package sizing to achieve cost-effective freight.
- Tracks packages not delivered in a timely manner or possibly lost by the carrier.
- Prepares shipping documents and labels, and schedules pickups and deliveries with carriers.
- Communicates effectively with carriers, warehouse personnel, and customer service representatives.
- Maintains accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, and kneel on a regular basis.
- Regular manual dexterity/coordination: hand/eye movements, motor control.
- Able to push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs. on a regular basis.
- Ability to operate/drive a pack-mule/stock chaser/forklift in a standing position.
Skills
- Basic knowledge of agricultural/construction equipment.
- Basic knowledge of weighing and labeling equipment.
- Basic computer experience with Microsoft Office applications and shipping software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Qualifications
- Warehouse experience preferred but not required.
- High school diploma a plus.
- Forklift certification from a recognized training program.
