Warehouse Associate
About the role
The Warehouse Associate will assist in preparing orders for warehouse storage and organizing the warehouse by company or customer specifications for received orders. Responsibilities include moving, stocking, scanning, securing, and recording inventory as needed. The role involves using hand and power tools, as well as powered equipment related to the storage or movement of items. At some locations, Warehouse Associates will also perform custodial and/or detailing tasks.
Responsibilities
- Fuel diesel trucks arriving to the warehouse and maintain appropriate logs for fuel dispensing.
- Move or re-position trucks as needed upon return to the warehouse.
- Wash, clean, shine, and/or detail tractors, trailers, forklifts, and company vehicles.
- Secure the facility and log incoming and outgoing movement of personnel.
- Assist in the construction and assembly of crates and custom storage containers using pneumatic hand tools.
- Adhere to safety practices with respect to self and others.
- Perform housekeeping and custodial duties, including sweeping, emptying garbage cans, and cleaning bathrooms and break room areas.
- Move machinery/equipment with various-sized forklifts, pallet jacks, or other powered equipment as necessary for optimizing safety and organization.
- Verify incoming equipment or items for storage; offload incoming equipment, inspect for damage, and complete all related paperwork or logs.
- Retrieve stored machinery and equipment for loading contract trailers or onto company vehicles.
- Tie down, strap, and secure loads on company trailers.
- Perform inventory and inventory control functions; maintain equipment/tool inventory in designated areas.
- Assist riggers and field personnel as needed with respect to equipment, tools, and other needs.
- Complete all other duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- CDL helpful but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Proficiency in the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words; ability to keep legible records and logs in English.
- Basic reading and mathematical calculations, including the use of multiplication, division, fractions, or decimals.
- Ability to safely use hand, power, and pneumatic tools, and read a tape measure.
- Ability to problem-solve, work independently, and be self-motivated.
- Knowledgeable in equipment operation, including manual transmissions, pneumatic, or hydraulic tools and equipment.
- Pleasant and customer-oriented demeanor with the ability to build positive work relationships.
- Willingness to work overtime or weekends when required.
Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
This is very physical, hands-on work. A Warehouse Associate must be able to perform general physical activities—such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling or moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds. The role requires the ability to work off the ground at varying heights and not be affected by moving machinery or parts. Work may vary between indoor, climate-controlled environments and non-temperature-controlled or outdoor environments in all types of weather, including over uneven ground or terrain.
