Warehouse Associate

About the role

Rexel USA is one of the largest distributors of electrical products, data communication, wireless communication and related supplies in the United States. The Warehouse Associate is responsible for efficiently and accurately filling customer orders, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping material in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security, accuracy, and productivity. This role is based in Nashville, TN, and does not include delivery responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Follow established Standard Operating Procedures and Environmental Health and Safety Rules; immediately address safety concerns
• Receive incoming material from vendors, customers, or other warehouses and verify quantity and description against packing lists
• Stock incoming orders on shelves in designated areas and report freight damage claims
• Prepare branch orders from the warehouse and ensure correct number and type of product are shipped
• Process shipment paperwork including verifying merchandise, applying correct postage tape and label, following customer shipping instructions, and insuring shipments when necessary
• Operate machinery including forklift, reach truck, and wire cutting machine as required
• Load common carrier and company vehicles
• Inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment
• Perform inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies
• May be required to assist with counter sales and customer support as needed
• Contribute to a culture focused daily on employee safety and a safe work environment

Qualifications

• No experience required; prior warehouse experience is a plus
• Certification to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment preferred
• High School diploma or GED preferred
• General knowledge of electrical products is a plus
• Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers
• Ability to handle basic issues and problems
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations to accurately complete job tasks
• Ability to organize and prioritize job tasks and requirements
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Basic computer knowledge
