Warehouse Associate

About the role

The Warehouse Associate plays a crucial role in Mattress Firm’s supply chain, ensuring smooth product handling and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload product from delivery trucks and vendor shipments.
• Stage deliveries and store all product in designated locations.
• Ensure inventory is dated and rotated according to schedule.
• Inspect products for defects and damages during receipt and shipment.
• Absorb appropriate and authorized signatures on paperwork.
• Assist in customer pickups, providing exceptional customer service.
• Participate in inbound and outbound quality assurance processes.
• Operate and maintain order pickers and warehouse equipment.
• May operate other specialized equipment to move and distribute freight.
• Maintain grounds by picking up papers and trash and cleaning parking lot and entrance to building.
• Maintain stock and merchandise areas, keeping them organized and clean.
• Ensure cleanliness of offices, bathrooms, warehouse floor, truck docks, and aisles through mopping, sweeping, and washing.
• Remove trash daily by emptying trash containers, transporting materials to disposal area, and recycling materials.
• Complete all required training modules and certifications prior to the due date.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for all.
• Communicate professionally with all internal and external contacts.
• Follow all Company policies and execute Company standards on appearance and functionality as well as appropriate brand representation.
• Communicate any concerns or issues to leadership to ensure proper efficiency of department and company operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ years general work experience preferred.

Skills

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail.
• Ability to manage time efficiently to ensure completion of work.
• General warehouse operations knowledge.
• Knowledge of the equipment and function of Powered Industrial Trucks for product relocation and safety inspection.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (preferred).

Pay

Competitive Pay rate of $18.50 per hour * depending on qualifications and experience.

Schedule

Shift: 10 am - 6:30 PM
Off: Thursday / Friday
