Responsibilities
- Receiving, filling, and shipping products accurately and efficiently.
- Ensures all products are readily available to be filled and completes necessary paperwork.
- Maintains all warehouse job functions including receiving, order fulfillment, product picking, wrapping and packing, stock replenishment, customer will call, and inventory cycle counts.
- Operates power equipment to locate, put away, stack, and move checked-in products to correct storage locations.
- Unloads trucks using forklift, pallet jack, electric pallet jack, or by hand, inspects freight for damage, verifies quantity ordered versus quantity received, checks all shipments against packing lists, and completes necessary paperwork.
- Scans products, prints labels, resolves labeling discrepancies, and completes necessary paperwork to ensure all required products have verified bar code labels and readable Johnstone stock numbers.
- Picks products, packs items into cartons, stacks them in a manner that minimizes damage, enters items into scan gun, and completes necessary paperwork to fill orders.
- Prepares orders by preparing trucks for shipments, palletizing and wrapping orders, loading pallets and pieces into trucks, placing packing list in last skid, and completing necessary paperwork.
- Maintains current accuracy and efficiency standards and follows all standard operating procedures.
- Maintains a safe work environment by working in a safe manner, following safety rules, maintaining equipment, and maintaining a clean work area.
- Promptly reports any safety or maintenance concerns to supervisors.
- Always wears protective equipment according to company policies and procedures.
- Accesses Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) as needed and when appropriate.
- Maintains required hazardous materials, forklift, and other internal and external certifications as needed.
- Maintains professional communications when interacting with customers and coworkers.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 0 – 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with a picker, forklift, RF scanner, and inventory management systems.
- Knowledge of HVAC wholesale industry, principles, and practices.
- Previous experience with OSHA and safety regulations and procedures.
- Forklift certification required, or willingness to obtain on the job.
