Warehouse Associate

About the role

The Warehouse Associates at Givens- Chesapeake, VA are integral to our mission of providing a single source solution in warehouse, distribution, transportation, packing and crating and air freight services. We are seeking individuals who can process and pack orders accurately and efficiently, handle materials, and meet performance metrics.

Responsibilities

• Accurately pick and pack orders in accordance with customer requirements and company standards
• Work in a fast-paced warehouse environment to ensure timely and efficient order processing
• Receive, load and unload 53' trailers, flatbeds and containers as well as prepare material for shipment
• Inspect merchandise for damages and defects
• Unload material to warehouse dock
• Identify damaged product or shortages and report to appropriate personnel
• Properly use RF scanners to confirm accuracy
• Able to withstand repetitive motion (lifting, bending, turning)
• Able to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods (35lbs)
• Operate various types of equipment to include but not limited to palletizer, gantry crane, banding material, shrink wrap pallets, hand grinders
• Able to meet on time performance metrics
• Comply with policies/procedures including safety procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Meet productivity goals and deadlines
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
• Necessary other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Basic math skills
• Able to withstand repetitive motion (lifting, bending, turning)
• Able to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods (35lbs)

• Able to meet on time performance metrics
