Warehouse Associate

The Warehouse Associate will have a positive impact on the Operations team at Covia’s Elco, IL location.
Responsibilities
- Perform each and every job in a safe and timely manner, with full adherence to all corporate and site safety policies.
- Operate mobile equipment (e.g., forklift) safely, perform routine pre-shift equipment checks, and report any issues immediately.
- Maintain organization by moving completed pallets of material to designated storage areas while preserving product integrity.
- Maintain accurate physical inventory of finished goods and consumables.
- Maintain an accurate shipping schedule.
- Prepare job orders using Microsoft Software (Word, Excel, SharePoint) and IFS SMP to find, assign, and locate orders, and create manual BOLs as needed.
- Load trucks, bulk containers, and other shipments accurately according to order numbers and shipping reports while preventing equipment or product damage.
- Maintain product quality standards during loading and unloading.
- Unload consumables, including bags, slipcovers, pallets, chemicals, etc.
- Perform housekeeping duties to keep work areas clean.
- Work productively, arrange priorities, and train new employees on warehouse functions and responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years of related work experience required.
- Literacy in English, both written and spoken.
- Effective communication skills and patience while teaching.
- Good problem-solving and evaluation abilities.
- Previous experience with ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, IFS) preferred.
- Demonstrated experience contributing within a team to deliver against set targets.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, including identifying and managing risks.
- Strong organizational skills.
Skills
- Ability to operate a forklift and other mobile equipment safely.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint).
- Experience with IFS SMP or similar ERP systems.
- Ability to train new employees.
