Warehouse Associate
About the role
We are seeking a proactive and team-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our operations. Key responsibilities include receiving, storing, handling, shipping, and preparing product for customer delivery. Additionally, this role involves administrative support duties such as preparing Bills of Lading (BOLs), packing slips, shipment scheduling, and shipping/receiving appointment coordination.
Responsibilities
- Receive and process inbound shipments, verifying quantities against shipping documents.
- Identify and report any discrepancies in product counts or physical condition immediately.
- Prepare and process Bills of Lading (BOLs), packing slips, shipping labels, and related documentation.
- Review shipping paperwork to ensure 100% accuracy in product selection and quantity.
- Pick products according to First-In, First-Out (FIFO) sequences and maintain inventory integrity.
- Securely seal shipments and apply all necessary labels, placards, and paperwork once approved.
- Support drivers during the loading process and ensure all completed paperwork is accounted for.
- Participate in systematic weekly and monthly cycle counts to ensure stock accuracy.
- Maintain inventory integrity by performing regular transfers of products into specialized containers as required by operational needs.
- Operate all warehouse equipment safely and assist with seasonal maintenance as needed.
- Collaborate with the Warehouse Lead on special projects and process improvements.
- Coordinate shipping and delivery appointments with carriers, vendors, and customers, communicating updates/schedule changes as needed.
- Respond to phone/email inquiries regarding shipments and deliveries.
- Enter and maintain accurate shipping, inventory, and receiving data in company systems.
- Execute additional tasks as assigned by the Warehouse Manager to support overall facility goals.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Warehouse experience preferred.
- Ability to operate a forklift and maintain forklift certification.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory control.
- Proven ability to follow team goals and objectives.
- Results-oriented with strong organizational and decision-making skills.
- Ability to follow direction and guidance from Lead or Leadership Team.
- Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office software, data entry, and use of FedEx/UPS shipping systems.
- Basic understanding of mathematics (addition and multiplication).
