We install residential storage units, playground systems, pergolas, gazebos and green houses. Backyard Products is looking for qualified candidates for our Warehouse Clerk in Columbia, SC. Our National Installation Organization is one of the largest in the industry, with 33 branch locations throughout the country. The role operates in a professional office environment as well as within a manufacturing environment subject to inside environmental conditions and noise. It often requires sitting, repetitive hand motion, hearing, listening, talking, standing, walking, climbing stairs, reaching overhead, pulling, pushing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload product using a forklift or other equipment
- Load builder and shop trucks accurately and efficiently
- Assist with inventory, schedules, adjustments, and tracking
- Cut and prepare lumber using power tools such as panel saw and chop saw for upcoming builds
- Pull orders and lumber with accuracy for upcoming builds
- Communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in written formats
- Keep warehouse area clean and organized
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with 0‑2 years of relevant experience (or equivalent)
- Experience loading and unloading product using a forklift
- Familiarity with construction and/or building materials (knowledge of the construction industry or installed services preferred)
- Inventory control experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Background check and drug screen required
