About the role

The Warehouse Associate & Assistant Driver plays a crucial role in ensuring the Treasure House warehouse is organized, efficient, and safe. This position occasionally serves as a frontline representative of The Rescue Mission, assisting the driver with donation pickups, deliveries of customer purchased items, and transporting recycled materials to salvage locations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an orderly warehouse by baling clothes, managing trash, loading and unloading trucks, and supporting the donation area as needed.
  • Clean, price, and display furniture on the sales floor.
  • Address customer inquiries regarding furniture and assist with sales.
  • Assist the primary driver, as needed, by picking-up and unloading scheduled donations, delivering customer purchased items, and transporting recycled materials to salvage locations.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • A valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • One year of experience as a driver.
  • Box truck driving experience preferred, but not required.
  • Forklift experience and certification, preferred.

  • Basic computer skills with knowledge of internet and email.
  • Ability to work with individuals of various socio-economic, ethnic, and racial populations.
  • Ability to comply with personal and business requirements and expectations as detailed in the Employee Handbook.
  • Knowledge of truck operating system to identify problem areas and assist with preventative maintenance of vehicles.
  • Ability to communicate with customers, donors, co-workers, and volunteers in a professional manner.

Pay

$17/hour starting rate.

Schedule

Full-time, 1st shift, Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
