About the Role

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Associate supports the materials management function of the logistics department and indirectly supports overall sales. Warehouse Associates ensure all stock is accounted for, processed, and organized to meet company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safe work habits and established safety procedures; participate in safety initiatives as assigned.
  • Perform warehouse activities, including material selection for shipment and stock shipment.
  • Pick and pack orders accurately and promptly; identify and count inventory in assigned areas.
  • Load and unload trucks according to established procedures; back-up delivery drivers as needed if qualified.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and hand trucks.
  • Maintain general warehouse housekeeping and check equipment for proper operation.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions; perform other warehouse tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Entry-level work experience.
  • If required to drive: valid Driver’s License with appropriate state licensing and clean driving record; ability to pass a DOT Medical Exam and obtain a 1-Year Card (paid for by The Kendall Group).
  • Ability to use standard office equipment (e.g., bar code scanners, printers) and warehouse equipment/tools/machines/vehicles; basic math and reasoning skills.
  • Excellent work ethic, verbal, and communication skills; ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels and request assistance when needed, especially for lifting heavy objects.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently lift/move up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand, walk, lift, pull, and push during the entire work shift.
  • Climb stairs/step ladders up to 16 steps.
  • Work in temperature conditions prevalent at the time; noise levels consistent with a distribution center.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in the operation of a forklift truck (not required but considered a plus).
