Warehouse Associate 1st Shift

Ryder is hiring a Temporary to Permanent Warehouse Associate in York, Pennsylvania. This position offers weekly pay and a career path that prioritizes safety and employee well-being.

Responsibilities

• Pack, kit, and assemble orders and materials.
• Load and unload inbound/outbound trailers.
• Ensure all scanning is completed correctly.
• Help train dock employees on new procedures.
• Ensure the facility is secure at the end of each shift; investigate and resolve scanning issues and housekeeping concerns.
• Perform picking and packing duties.
• Check for evidence of product or container damage.
• Perform the assigned tasks as described in the location’s policies and procedures.
• Participate in workgroup and other team activities for the purpose of self-improvement and improving warehouse operations and related business functions.
• Perform housekeeping duties for assigned area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of related warehouse experience.
• One (1) year or more related warehouse experience preferred.
• Intermediate ability to learn and operate powered industrial equipment, such as: stand-up and sit-down forklifts, cherry pickers, pallet jacks, etc., including how to operate and maintain (change battery, recognize common mechanical issues).
• May be required to operate manual and/or automated other warehouse/manufacturing equipment (such as a packaging line).

Qualifications

• Intermediate required to read, do basic mathematics in English for the purpose of safety, work instructions, policies, etc.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to input data into the WMS computer system (s) in use.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail oriented with excellent time management skills.

Skills

• Intermediate ability to operate and maintain powered industrial equipment.
• Intermediate ability to operate and maintain manual and/or automated warehouse/manufacturing equipment.

Pay

• Weekly pay.
• Hourly Pay: $16.50 per hour.
• Overtime Pay: $24.75 per hour.

Schedule

• First Shift: Monday - Thursday 7:00 am - 5:30 pm.
• Fridays as needed.
