Warehouse Assistant Manager

About the role
The Assistant Manager is primarily responsible for assisting in the oversight and coordination of all warehouse functions on our 2nd Shift Pick/Pack/Ship Operation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in daily operations, making decisions to identify and resolve problem areas.
- Manage all personnel to ensure they are trained, working effectively, and maintaining high accuracy.
- Assist the manager with inventory accuracy functions and make related decisions.
- Identify and suggest improvements to warehouse processes and procedures to optimize cost reductions, customer service, productivity, and safety.
- Assist in managing security and access to the facility.
- Monitor the general maintenance and upkeep of the facility, including procurement and supplies.
- Promote a safe work environment by upholding company safety policies and procedures.
- Serve as the lead when the Manager is out of the building.
- Assist with inventory control, picking, packing, and shipping of daily orders.
- Train and supervise employees, including being certified as a "train the trainer" on moving equipment.
- Understand and perform all functions of Receiving, Put-Away, Inventory Control, Picking, Packing, Cycle Counting, Returns, and Shipping of daily orders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
This is an assistant manager-level position with authority to make disciplinary or managerial decisions, including hiring, terminating, disciplining, resolving conflicts, or addressing attendance issues in accordance with the manager.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 1+ years of experience leading and managing in a team environment.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills.
- Oracle knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to train others.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Strong organizational skills.
