Position Summary
Manually unloads containers and stages them in the proper area, operates forklift and moves cargo from warehouse staging area to containers. Receives, scans, verifies cargo quantities based on customer requirements. Identifies and transports cargo to and from warehouse into containers.
Qualifications
- A minimum of six (6) months of recent, hands-on warehouse experience involving operational tasks.
- Experience operating a forklift per OSHA standards.
- Authorization to operate heavy equipment will be provided by the company.
- Must be able to understand English at a basic level.
- Must be able to accurately process alpha/numeric information.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, extended hours, holidays, and/or weekends as needed.
- Possess organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors and fellow employees.
- Ability to think logically, follow procedures, instructions and make sound decisions.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Operates forklift to move cargo from warehouse staging area and fill containers continuously.
- Set up pallets in staging area, completing shipments using forklift to obtain items from shelves throughout warehouse.
- Manually pick and pull items from racks based on pick tickets or loading guides to complete orders.
- Receive, scan, and verify cargo quantities based on company procedures and customer requirements.
- Identify and transport cargo to and from warehouse into containers, palletize cargo, scan and wrap manually.
- Utilize forklift to move palletized cargo to final staging area.
- Load and unload containers, delivery trucks manually and/or with lift/dolly and verifies incoming and outgoing cargo by weighing, counting and documenting.
- Inform supervisor immediately of any discrepancies, damages and/or spoiled cargo.
- Congveys materials and items from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areas.
- Ensure that cargo is loaded in appropriate container or trailer for shipment.
- Obtain boxes for repackaging items and labeling.
- Changes propane tanks, oil and water, etc. Reports electrical and/or mechanical difficulties to warehouse mechanic.
- Maintain awareness of all surroundings (i.e. trucks, people etc.) at all times in order to avoid collisions.
- Obtains work assignments from supervisor and determines if additional tools are needed.
- Marks materials with identifying information.
- Removes empty skids or pallets and stacks in designated area for future usage.
- Sweeps work area for cleanliness as needed.
- Performs additional related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently sits while operating the forklift but it is intermittent.
- Frequently stands, walks, twists, reaches forward, and exercises repetitive foot and wrist motion and finger dexterity.
- Occasionally lifts and carries up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts and carries up to 75 pounds, occasionally pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds.
- Continuously grasps, and exercises eye-hand coordination and eye-hand-foot coordination.
- Frequently reaches overhead and pinch.
- Frequently talks and hears.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
